Pooh Shiesty Arrested in Armed Robbery and Kidnapping Case Involving Gucci Mane
Pooh Shiesty, along with his father Lontrell Williams Sr. and fellow rapper Big30, has been arrested for allegedly robbing and kidnapping Gucci Mane and two others at gunpoint earlier this year. Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., is one of eight defendants taken into custody by federal authorities in connection with this incident, while a ninth suspect remains at large.
According to the Department of Justice, Shiesty arranged a meeting with Gucci Mane and two other music industry professionals on January 10 at a Dallas recording studio to discuss his contract with 1017 Records. Upon entering the studio, Shiesty and his crew executed a coordinated armed takeover. Allegedly, Shiesty pulled out an AK-style pistol and forced Gucci to sign contract termination paperwork, effectively releasing him from his deal.
The “Back In Blood” rapper is also accused of stealing Gucci’s wedding ring, watch, earrings, and cash. The other defendants reportedly brandished firearms, robbing the other victims of Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and additional high-value items. During the incident, one victim was reportedly choked to near unconsciousness, according to authorities.
At the time of this incident, Pooh Shiesty was on home confinement due to a previous firearms conspiracy conviction in Florida, having been released from prison in October 2021 after serving four years.
Investigators have compiled various pieces of evidence to charge Shiesty and his crew, including fingerprints, rental car records, and social media posts displaying the allegedly stolen items shortly after the incident. If convicted, each defendant faces a potential sentence of up to life imprisonment. As of now, neither Pooh Shiesty, Big30, nor Gucci Mane have publicly addressed the charges.
