J. Cole has unexpectedly released a new EP titled Birthday Blizzard ’26, hosted by the renowned DJ Clue. This four-track project delivers an impressive showcase of Cole's sharp lyrics and freestyle skills, celebrating his 40th birthday on January 28.

Inspired by the raw energy of ’90s and ’00s New York hip-hop, the EP features classic beats from tracks like Biggie's “Who Shot Ya?” and Diddy's “Victory.” Notably, in the opening track “Bronx Zoo Freestyle,” Cole addresses the backlash from his 2024 apology to Kendrick Lamar, expressing his resilience in the face of doubt.

In “Golden Goose Freestyle,” he critiques industry practices, highlighting issues like ghostwriting and streaming manipulation. With lines referencing Universal Music Group's Lucian Grainge, Cole asserts his authenticity and the importance of ownership.
