Isaiah Rashad Unveils New Album 'It’s Been Awful' and Tour Plans
Isaiah Rashad is set to make a highly anticipated return with his new album It’s Been Awful, releasing on May 1 through Top Dawg Entertainment and Warner Records. This marks his first album in five years, following The House is Burning.
Accompanying the announcement is a cinematic trailer that features Rashad limping across a field, hinting at the album's intense themes. Fans can also pre-save the lead single “Same Sh!t,” which is expected to drop soon.
Additionally, an interactive website has surfaced, showcasing a poster for the It’s Been Awful Tour, suggesting that Rashad is planning a tour to support the album. Visitors to the site can also hear a snippet of an unreleased instrumental, likely from the upcoming project.
Earlier this week, Rashad teased the album on his Instagram Stories with a cryptic card that read: “Everybody wanna see you crash out, fall off, and burn out all for their entertainment. I just wanna see you smile.” This message aligns with the album title, It’s Been Awful.
Fellow TDE artists have shown their support by promoting the album on their social media platforms. In a previous interview with VICE, Rashad shared that his musical influences for this project include OutKast, Prince, and Fousheé. He described the album as having a “sultry southern mix” that blends various genres, from twangy rock and psychedelia to intimate sounds.
With the excitement building around It’s Been Awful, fans are eager to see what Isaiah Rashad has in store after a significant hiatus from releasing new music.
