Drake Unveils Iceman Release Date in Stunning Toronto Ice Installation
Drake has taken his album rollout for Iceman to the next level by revealing the release date within a massive ice structure in Toronto. On April 20, the Canadian superstar shared on Instagram that he had constructed an enormous ice installation at the Bond Hotel parking lot, showcasing the release date of his highly anticipated album.
“Release Date Inside. 81 BOND STREET DOWNTOWN TORONTO,” Drake captioned alongside photos of himself next to the impressive monument, dressed in a Green Bay Packers varsity jacket. This unique promotional tactic has attracted throngs of fans who have flocked to the ice structure, with some even attempting to dismantle it using sledgehammers and pickaxes, while others have resorted to melting it with flamethrowers and hairdryers. However, the blocks of ice are expected to melt naturally within a week, according to the weather forecast.
This ice installation follows a series of teasers related to Iceman from Drake and OVO insiders. The rapper recently hinted that the album is complete by posting on his Instagram Stories, “It’s in,” accompanied by a photo of ice blocks. Additionally, he was linked to a large explosion in Toronto last week, speculated to be part of an upcoming music video titled “Project Bot.”
On a recent episode of the New Rory & Mal podcast, media personality Mal provided insight into what fans can expect from Iceman, stating it features “some of the best rapping I’ve ever heard from Drake.” He emphasized that the music being prepared is poised to elevate the cultural landscape and hinted at an intense rivalry with Kendrick Lamar, suggesting it will clearly establish Drake's dominance in the industry.
